Defexpo India 2012, 29 March - 01 April 2012, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India
The seventh edition of Defexpo India 2012, held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from March 29 to April 1, 2012, had an overwhelming and unprecedented response both from the private and public sector. Inaugurating the expo, Defence Minsiter A.K. Antony emphasised on the need for indigenisation in defence sector. Minister of State for Defence Dr M.M. Pallam Raju said that the government is in the process of streamlining defence procurement and export procedures. Besides special editions of SP's Land Forces, SP's Naval Forces, SP's Aviation, SP's M.A.I., a supplement on Defexpo (SP's Special Supplement) and three show dailies (SP's ShowNews), highlighting the events and happenings during the land, naval and internal security expo, was published. India Aviation 2012, the third edition of this International Exhibition and Conference on Civil Aviation was organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The event was inaugurated by none other than the Minister for Civil Aviation Ajit Singh. The event served as a platform for international players to reach out to Indian traders and industry. The show acted as a catalyst for new business deals amongst major players in the industry with many deals and memorandum of understandings (MoUs) signed during the five-day event. The 7th Aero India was organized by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It was managed by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
